Thanks to AdventHealth the program is free for DeLand residents (both in city limits and unincorporated areas) and is on a first-come, first-served basis.Īll honorees or their families will also receive a keepsake replica banner created by Trophy Factory Plus. The program will allow DeLand area residents to honor family members that are active service members or past military officers that have been honorably discharged or died in the line of duty by having the city display street-pole banners honoring our veterans in Downtown DeLand. The Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program will build on that rich history. The City of DeLand has a rich history of honoring military veterans including events like hosting the Volusia County Veterans Day Parade. If you would like to participate, we are starting a waiting list for the 2022 program. We are pleased to announce AdventHealth DeLand has agreed to sponsor our program through 2023.
